Join Loft Artists Association Artists as they kick of their 40th Anniversary year of celebratory exhibits and events with an all member exhibit at the Mayor’s Gallery in Stamford’s Government Center. Curated by longtime member and past president, Lina Morielli, the show will feature work from current LAA artists. LAA Artists are well known for their high quality and diverse art styles spanning a wide variety of artistic mediums and subject matter. LAA artists work regularly, continually challenging themselves to explore unique and innovation directions with their creative processes. In 2018 the LAA is also celebrating the addition of 12 new artist members whose work compliments the work of the existing membership while at the same time bringing an exciting new range of styles and expertise. “It’s fitting for the LAA to kick off its calendar of 40th anniversary events at the Mayor’s Gallery.” comments LAA Co-Director Mark Macrides, “as the city of Stamford and particularly Mayor David Martin have been strong supporters of the LAA and its mission to bring art, education and culture to the community.” Based in Stamford’s south end since its beginning in 1978, the Loft Artists Association continues to bring unique exhibitions and educational workshops for adults and children to the public. Their annual Open Studios event and Drawing Workshops offer a rare opportunity for visitors to see artists working in their studios and gain an understanding of what it means to be a career artist. With opportunities in 2018 to also exhibit at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, UCONN Stamford, The Palace Theatre and The Bartlett Arboretum, the LAA is excited to bring its art and mission to other parts of Stamford in celebration of its historic accomplishments as one of Stamford’s premiere cultural organizations.
