Fairfield County’s Community Foundation promotes philanthropy as a means to create change in Fairfield County, focusing on innovative and collaborative solutions to critical issues impacting the community. We were formed in 1992 when five smaller foundations merged, and expanded in 2008 through another merger with the Greater Bridgeport Area Foundation.

Thanks to the generosity of contributors and fundholders, we have awarded more than $190 million in grants to nonprofits throughout Fairfield County and beyond. We oversee $170+ million in funds on behalf of 200 Donor & Corporate Advised Funds, 140 Scholarship Funds and 200 other special interest and discretionary funds.
