29th annual Spectrum Contemporary Art Show at the Carriage Barn Arts Center

THE SHOW:
This Spring the Carriage Barn Arts Center, home to the New Canaan Society for the Arts will host its 29th annual Spectrum Contemporary Art Show. Spectrum is a juried exhibition of original, contemporary artwork, and invites submissions in all media. Entries must have been created within the past two years and not have been previously exhibited at the Carriage Barn.

Through a partnership with Voltz Clarke Gallery, Blair Clarke and Sarah Tortorich are the selected jurors for DITTO. Votlz Clarke is a New York City based gallery that maintains a roster of national and international emerging to mid-career artists. This exhibit gives artists the opportunity to showcase multiples – a pair, diptych, triptych or group of pieces that relate to each other. Selected works will highlight the juxtaposition, contrast, comparison, expansion, connection and separation between the pieces. Acceptable media includes painting, prints, drawing, photography and mixed media. In addition, sculpture that includes two or more different pieces that are thematically related and make sense when exhibited together.
