Aesther, originally from Boston currently lives and works out of NYC. Her work has been exhibited globally and most recently, in July 2021, had a solo exhibition in NYC.
Her work is known for its nuanced and subtle abstract paintings. What defines her work is the experiments with colors and textures and the play between linear and ethereal elements. Made over long stretches of time with layers of natural pigments, the nature of her paintings allows the viewer to explore deeper and deeper within the work in changing light and mood.
The paintings capture observations on the impermanence of life and explore the intrinsic relationships between the human spirit and organic material. What she seeks through the process is harmony and in her own words “oneness between self and matter”.
Chang’s work directly invites the viewer to realize a deeper dimension within one’s very own being – a transcendental realm beyond the body and mind. To unlock this realm, one must go inward.
Once again it is such a pleasure to represent this emerging talent and we will be sharing more details and content in the upcoming weeks!!!
