Molina’s work explores and deconstructs the patriarchal ideas tied into mid-20th century American fashion and advertising imagery. In probing the oppressive power structures lurking below the surface, Molina presents an optimistic vision of rebellion and social progress, highlighting the accomplishments of the feminist movement.
Molina alternates between inspiration from her personal life and the world around her. Her unique style layers paint and collage, often incorporating vintage paper, acrylic paint, ink, ribbon, silvered gold leaf and vintage book and magazines.
