This exhibition showcases the innovative work of Joanne Dugan, Amanda Marchand, Anne Arden McDonald, and Liz Nielsen, who create photographic works without using a camera. Experimenting with light, chemicals, objects, and time on photo-sensitive paper, these artists illuminate and explore the possibilities of camera-less photography. They challenge traditional expectations of photographic representation, and in doing so they push the technical and conceptual boundaries of photography into fascinating new terrain. The striking works on display in Camera-less represent the cutting edge of this extraordinary new field.
Curated by Caren Winnall, Camera-less will be on view at the Flinn Gallery on the Second Floor of Greenwich Library from January 16 to March 5.
