Joseph Genova, a native of Italy, is mostly self-taught as an artist. He draws inspiration from Caravaggio with his use of chiaroscuro, the strong contrast between light and dark to create depth and drama in a work of art. Mr. Genova’s art has been featured in one-man shows at The Hammond Museum in North Salem, New York, the Westchester Italian Cultural Center in Tuckahoe, New York, and the Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey. Additionally, his paintings are also displayed in various galleries throughout the United States and in many private collections in North America and Europe.
