David Licata is an artist from White Plains, New York. He is a graduate of the Cranbrook Academy of Art where he received an MFA in Metalsmithing and is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz where he received a BFA in Sculpture and a BS in Art Education. Since 2002, from wearable chain maile to interactive nature-based sculptures, his intricate torchworked glass works of art have been exhibited at SOFA NY, SOFA Chicago, Glass Weekend, Talente 09, and most recently at the Glass Art Society conference’s Glass Fashion Show in Venice, Italy.
His art is inspired by hiking and nature, as he uses traditional metalsmithing techniques while working with glass in hopes to create conversations about strength, vanity, and protection.
