Sorokin Gallery is pleased to present the critically acclaimed, Brooklyn-based artist, Margeaux Walter with her solo exhibition “All Natural”. While Walter exhibits widely in the U.S. and abroad, Sorokin Gallery is the first gallery to display this work series. We are also very excited that Walter will be staging, for this show only, a site-specific installation in the gallery.
“All Natural” is a collection of high resolution, medium to large scale, C-print photographs that conflate a collective longing for the environment with the instinct to consume. Through ironically humorous staged vignettes, Walters creates simulated natural environments she places herself into. The images are documents of these live installations and reveal a human desire to connect with nature, and the failure of that connection with the influence of commerce, consumerism, lifestyle, and comfort.
