Stamford is abuzz with the upcoming 2018 6th annual ARTWALK on June 22nd, 5-8 pm, that will feature 100+ painters, photographers, sculptors, and multimedia contemporary artists along with an exciting array of musical genres by acoustic guitarists to full bands including classical, folk, blues, Latin, rock, jazz, Broadway, and ballroom curated by local entertainer Barbara Occhino . Created by Stamford Downtown Special Services District and free to the public, the starting point for the gallery stroll is at the Ferguson Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, where visitors can pick up an ARTWALK passport to collect stamps for the 7 art galleries. When completed, the passport is returned to the Library where participants are entered in a drawing to win prizes.

The entertainment at the Ferguson Public Library’s front corner entrance (1 Public Library Plaza) will be rollicking with The Barrelhouse Blues Band and ballroom dancing by the popular by Dance With Me Stamford. Upstairs the art gallery exhibit will be accompanied by the Latin-classical fusion youth band INTEMPO followed by Ellynne Rey then the Gold Coast Kaleidoscope Ensemble. In the lobby, visitors will be welcomed by acoustic guitarists and singers Elana Zabari and Laura Skutch. The evening will conclude with a film presentation on the Bedford Street side wall at 9pm by the Sacred Heart University Film School Master of Art. UConn Stamford (1 University Place) will feature live music in the lobby and the outdoor Franklin Street patio. Barbara Occhino (Barbara’s Serenade) accompanied by jazz guitarist Carmine Marino, That Virginia, and John Cloonan will entertain indoors as visitors peruse the Loft Artists exhibition. Those strolling to galleries on Franklin Street or wanting to rest at the UConn patio will enjoy music by the SnL Acoustic Duo and singer/guitarist Daniel Swartz. Jazz guitarist Jim Olbrys will perform at Russ Hollander Master Goldsmith (154 Bedford Street).
