Studying with respected artists Shirley Jankowich, Charles Peterson (AWS), and William Gerhold, he graduated with degrees in Fine Art and Education from Marietta College in 1973. His large compositions are based upon the use of complex geometric forms, the illusion of overlapping and intersecting planes, improbable perspectives, and subtle transitions of tonal passages that invariably tease the eye.

"Recollections" - Artwork by Paul G. Larson at Loft Artists Association

Larson describes his work as a process of finding what has been lost and the recollection of that which has been forgotten. Exploring the mystery of personally perceived realities, his hope is that the viewers of his work may find something familiar to their worlds as well; perhaps providing an insight, evoking a distant memory, or eliciting an emotion somehow familiar, and perhaps long unfelt.

A resident of Greenwich, CT, he is a member of the Greenwich Art Society, the Loft Artists in Stamford, and the Artists Collective of Westport. His achievements in oil, pastel, and acrylic have been recognized with many awards and his works have been acquired by numerous collectors in the U.S. and abroad. Recollections will be on exhibit from November 9 to December 22, 2019, with an artist’s reception that is free and open to the public on Saturday, November 23, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
