The artist’s reception is scheduled for July 14th, from 5:30-7:30 PM where the public is invited to meet the artist.

“I believe that everything we touch, and experience is a form of art. Being an artist, for me, is the ability to emulate and honor life, nature, culture, humanity, struggle, and love in ways it might not otherwise be seen. Painting the human body is an art that is provocative, healing, and intriguing because the body brings art to life. I like to challenge the status quo. I am fascinated by the process of transformation because it is one that all living beings are required to go through. The art of human transformation is timeless.” Alicia C. Cobb

Alicia is certified in therapeutic arts and currently works out of her studio space in Bridgeport where she facilitates virtual workshops and hosts virtual, social paint events as well as private lessons, and commissions. She enjoys giving back and participates in community events and organizations frequently. She acts as a mentor to many young aspiring artists and is a teaching artist specializing in social-emotional learning through visual art throughout Connecticut & internationally.

Alicia was awarded Artist of the Year in June of 2022 from the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County. She is also among highlighted artists in New York City Body Painting Day and The Flesh Art Show in New Orleans. Alicia placed top ten in the 2016, North American Body Paint Championships in Greensboro, NC. which is the only sanctioned body art competition in the United States. She has been a featured, participating artist in public art exhibits throughout Fairfield County since 2015. Her art has also been featured in several published magazines.
