The artists may have come from as far away as Japan, Colombia, and the mountains of Italy; they have painted in places such as Monet’s gardens and photographed images under the sea for their inspirations; and yet their talents all come together at Wilton Library as members of the “Loft Artists Association Exhibition” from Stamford, CT.
The featured artists are Claudio Altesor, Stamford; Anna Badini, Stamford; Margot Bittenbender, Old Greenwich; Rita Ghandour, Stamford; Rosa Colón, Stamford; Maria C. Friscia, Riverside; Ellen Gordon, Stamford; Lisa Hillman, Darien; Catherine Horan, Old Greenwich; Yuko Ike, Darien; Joanie Landau, Fairfield; Paul Larson, Greenwich; , Barbara Mathis, Stamford; Lina Morielli, Stamford; Jeffery Nelson, Stamford; Maura Smotrich, Stamford; Rebecca Stern, Stamford; Julliette Teherani, Stamford; and Pierrette Wagner, Stamford.
“We’re delighted to welcome back the Loft Artists Association from Stamford,” said Ed MacEwen, art chairman for Wilton Library. “We haven’t had them for years so I felt it was time to invite them back. They are all very accomplished in what they create and will be well received in Wilton.”
The artists’ works are diverse from their subject matter choices, to their media selections to their engaging styles. The walls of the library’s gallery, reference and reading areas will be bursting with color, just what is needed during the drab days of winter.
