“These people have all touched my life in some way. Some are acquaintances, friends, and family members. They all have given me the opportunity to express how I see them by allowing me to paint them. For more than forty years, I have been looking at people and chronicling how they come and go in my life. This exhibit is a retrospective of some of those years and who has been there and how I have seen them” says Barbara Mathis.
Barbara Mathis, a figurative painter and art teacher, has work included in many private collections and has been featured in many juried and invitational exhibitions, including those at the Katonah Museum, Pen & Brush, Pfizer Corporation, Merrill Lynch and the Greenwich Arts Society, as well as many other venues.
