“These people have all touched my life in some way. Some are acquaintances, friends, and family members. They all have given me the opportunity to express how I see them by allowing me to paint them. For more than forty years, I have been looking at people and chronicling how they come and go in my life. This exhibit is a retrospective of some of those years and who has been there and how I have seen them” says Barbara Mathis.

Barbara Mathis, a figurative painter and art teacher, has work included in many private collections and has been featured in many juried and invitational exhibitions, including those at the Katonah Museum, Pen & Brush, Pfizer Corporation, Merrill Lynch and the Greenwich Arts Society, as well as many other venues. Barbara began her art career in the animation industry working on the “Spiderman” cartoon series and various commercials. Later she became the first woman graphic artist at ABC News.
